Abstract

This paper discusses environmental human resource management by briefly presenting the topic and identifying some research avenues. Environmental HRM is a relatively new research topic. This paper offers one possible portrayal of environmental HRM. In its contemporary form, environmental human resource management addresses the greening of human resource practices from a societal rather than technical standpoint, as was the case in early research. This paper discusses the origin of environmental HRM. It outlines how this stream of research connects with related fields and proposes a description of the effects through the lens of the AMO approach. The article ends with a discussion regarding some avenues for research, including some managerial implications.
