Abstract

To ensure the satisfaction of their clients, the conformity of their products, and the effectiveness of their
organization, companies, even very small one’s,
have more and more use of a quality system which
is likely to standardize human resources management (Hrm). The article raises this issue, that of
Hrm standardization, at a time when some authors,
like Gary Hamel, have lunched stimulating debates
about the end of managerial innovations stemming
from growing standardization as well as normalization. The article studies this problematic in the
context of independent and regulated professions
through the case of the introduction of IsO 9001
within French notary practices. The case study is
based on intervention researches led within 250
notary practices from 2004 and 2010, representing a
sample of 420 notaries and more than 1 700 staff.
