UNE ALTERNATIVE À L’HÉGÉMONIE ANGLOPHONE : ENJEUX ET PROPOSITIONS
Keywords:
French-speaking world, Englishization, hegemony, scientific journal, ecological transitionAbstract
The hegemony of the English language and of anglophone journals raises lively debates in the Humanities and Social Sciences (HSS) in non-English speaking areas. It impedes the paths of thought, its expression and dissemination. It also undermines theoretical and empirical pluralism and complicates the management of research. This essay discuss the issues at play for research in the “business & society” field. Therefore, it proposes counter-hegemonic strategies to be deployed at the level of academic journals: 1) promoting research in French language, 2) inclusive knowledge diffusion, 3) theoretical pluralism, 4) empirical pluralism and 5) reterritorialization of research. These proposals aim to establish the conditions to create disruptive scientific knowledge on social and ecological transitions.
