Abstract

How to explain the apparent social acceptance of a restructuring process? This article answers this
question by relying on the largest restructuring in France in 2009 within the Bénéteau company. This
case study shows that social acceptance implies that managers are able to move between standards
and empirical realities whose origin is determined during the restructuring process and in the years
preceding it.
