PUTTING BACK PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITY INTO INDIVIDUAL PERFORMANCE APPRAISAL: AN OPPORTUNITY TO EXPLORE POWER TO ACT

There has been a great deal of performance appraisal
(PA) research, but little has been directed toward
understanding power to act dynamism in this process
and investigating effects on work performance. This
research aims to explore the role of PA interview
focused on professional activity in power to act
dynamism. Based on a qualitative research in the
public sector and interviews with a sample of 25
dyads appraiser-appraisee, this paper aims to deeper
understand the influence of PA interviews on the
expression and recognition of power to act. Focusing
on professionnal activity and dynamism of power to
act during the formal interviews, seems to influence
personal work engagement and to improve collective
work performance.
