Abstract

The specific system of governance of Collective Interest Cooperative Company (SCIC) is being
concerned. The way to design the relationship between this organization and its stakeholders is
thereby transformed. Therefore, what is the governance model of the SCIC which is a commercial
cooperative company with multi-stakeholder membership and a collective interest aim? After
identifying the main contributions and limits of governance theories, we analyze statutes of 23 SCICs
in order to identify the characteristics of a multi-stakeholder governance model. It takes a variety of
shapes combining different governance models as described in the literature. So rather than thinking
governance in terms of categories, it would be more a variable configuration vacillating between the
different issues of SCIC’s stakeholders and a shared collective interest.
