THE GIFT AS HIGHLIGHT OF THE BUILDING OF A SHARED HRM IN A SME
Abstract
In the continuity of Psychogios et al. (2016), this
article proposes a new form of HRM in SMEs built
jointly by the owners-manager and the employees.
Our analysis integrates the literature on HRM in
SMEs and the Mauss’s approach of gift exchange
theory. A longitudinal and retrospective study
carried out in a SME from the sector of the social
and solidarity economy leads to the construction of a
process modeling a shared HRM revealing the steps
of the gift : the initial gift of the owner-manager,
the mobilisation of employees and the expected
counter-gifts.
