Should a stigma be revealed? An adaptation of existing models for a theoretical contribution to the understanding of disability

The purpose of this article is to propose a mobilization of Anglo-American models interested in the revelation of stigmas in companies (Clair et al. 2005; Ragins 2008; Chaudoir & Fisher 2010) for an application to the population of people with disabilities. We note that despite the richness of the models developed, they only partially take into account the latest advances on the unveiling of stigmatized identities (Chaudoir & Fischer 2010), and struggle to apprehend all of the targeted populations (particularly people with disabilities). Based on these observations, our aim is to mobilize them on the issue of disability.
