Abstract

This issue of Maghreb-Machrek devotes its dossier to a country which emerges from other Arab countries in its societal and political reforms. Morocco is in fact following a relatively stabilized trajectory for the moment towards transformations in line with aspirations for freedom and equality, to the dignity that has been expressed throughout the Arab world. The reform of the Mudawana, political openness to socialists and then to Islamists, the new Constitution, the creation of new institutions or new initiatives such as the INDH, the effervescence of civil society, the dynamism of social movements and regionalization are all societal and institutional transformations that are part of the continuity of the monarchical regime.
