WHAT ARE THE EFFECTS OF GENDER EQUALITY POLICIES, ACCORDING TO THEIR APPROPRIATION? A CASE STUDY

French companies have several obligations
about gender pay gap and equal access to responsibilities. However, inequalities persist. The appropriative
perspective of management tools offers a better
understanding of this paradox, underlining
that a measure defined by the company and which
necessitates an appropriation process from the local
actors may be diverted. In our work, which lies on a
case study, we try to link the notion of appropriation
to the quantified evaluation of the effects. We define,
from the appropriative perspective of management
tools and from a qualitative study, testable hypothesis
about the measures defined by the company. We
show that, in the case studied, the more the measures
necessitate an important work of appropriation, the
fewer they have quantified effects on gender pay gap
and equal access to responsibilities.
