An update on Generation Y The untimeliness of the generation?

Abstract

Managerial studies on Generation Y are based on a sociological theorization of the concept of “generation.” Whether the latter is defined by dates of birth, by events experienced in common by individuals of the same age, or by a historical period, it nevertheless overlooks its primary meaning: generation is, in its essence, the power and act of begetting. This article proposes to discuss the issues involved in such a shift.
