Abstract

The French hospital sector is undergoing many changes (financial, structural, organizational, human, etc.) and its players must deploy great adaptability to meet the challenges of today and tomorrow. Interprofessional collaboration is a major lever to respond to the difficulties faced by hospitals, but the mechanisms for its implementation are still unclear. After specifying the interest of interprofessional collaboration within hospitals (concerning 3 levels, that of the patients, that of the professionals and that of the organization), we propose in this article, based on a review of the writings, to answer the following objectives: clarify the notion of emergent state and identify the main emergent states of interprofessional collaboration (trust, cohesion, mutual recognition, willingness to collaborate and leadership); identify the organizational factors specific to hospitals in interaction with these emerging states in the hospital sector; understand the effects of these interactions. This study allows us to put into perspective many interactions between the organization and emerging factors but also to shed light on this emergence with regard to the specificities of the health sector. The links identified are numerous, their entanglement and the interactions are extremely complex. The contextualization of the analysis to the hospital sector raises questions specific to this field. The research work can then be oriented, through a complementary study, towards putting the analysis of the literature into perspective with elements of empirical investigation.
