Quality services offer by health professionals in Cameroon: case of experimentation in public hospitals of Yaounde through inductive qualitative analysis

Abstract

The objective of this article is to study the way in which health professionals design, implement and evaluate health services they provide to patients, with the aim of improving their quality in training health in Cameroon, specifically in five public hospitals in different categories of Yaounde. After a qualitative inductive analysis, it appears from this study that these health centers do not have accreditation standards, the health professionals who work subjectively appreciate the quality of services they offer. The welcome, dialogue, appreciation of the services rendered by the users and stakeholders are the main criteria on which they are based. Since quality is designed as a multidimensional and hierarchical built whose criteria must be adapted to the socio-cultural context in which the evaluation is performed, this article
highlights the quality parameters of the services provided in the context of the organizations.
This contribution would enable policy makers and other partners of the Cameroonian health sector to better structure for assessing the quality of health services criteria while taking account of universal accreditation standards such as the World Health Organization. This would improve the well-being of the beneficiaries.
