Jamal Al-Banna, who died in 2013, has called for a resurgence of Islam since 1946. He demanded a return to Koranic Islam in the face of what he saw as an Islam of clerics and Salafis.
Through this, he urged men to think for themselves. Indeed, far from being able to limit himself to only imitate or follow, men should engage a part of themselves in the understanding
of the message. Islam, both as a religion and as a community, requests every believer to face
his responsibility. Only this form of Islam can be an appeal for liberation.
