Development initiatives do not always deliver what they advocate. This is the
case of the Green Morocco Plan (GMP) strategies which aimed at supporting
the employment and autonomy of rural women in income-generating
activities (AGR) through decision-making processes within cooperatives.
The study shows that contrary to what has been advocated, women are not
able to benefit from income-generating activities or participate in decisionmaking processes. Their involvement is limited to cheap or even free labour,
whereas only the most educated people are able to benefit economically.
