Abstract

Considered as the first democratic post-arab spring constitution, the Tunisian Constitution
is a success. The text was adopted in a euphoric evening by the National Constituent Assembly
(ANC: Assemblée Nationale Constituante) the 26th of january 2014 with a majority vote of
92%. The adoption of the new Constitution erased months of controversies, arguments and
critics wich occured during the preparation of the text. The new Tunisian Constitution embodies a remarkable progress in MENA countries.
