THE MAJUNGA TOWER IN PARIS-LA DÉFENSE

Abstract

The Majunga Tower, located in Paris-La Defense BusinessCentre and designed by architect Jean-Paul Viguier on behalf ofUnibail- Rodamco is an office building more than 200 m high.Besides the building architectural and energy specificities, thebuilding site, started in January 2011, includes particularcharacteristics in relationship with the impact of exploitedquarry mining at the level of the base course of the tower, withthe management of surrounding buildings settlements and of thetable settlement of the foundation raft of the tower. The Majungatower mainly differs from usual construction with its structuraldesign and with the foundation system adapted to the projectrequirements.
