STUDY OF PHYSICO-MECHANICAL BEHAVIOROF A MARL CLAY TREATED WITH SLAKED LIME.CASE OF EAST-WEST HIGHWAY SECTION OUEDFODDA / KHEMIS MILIANA (ALGERIA)

Abstract

The treatment by lime of the clayey soils allows to avoid thetransport, to value the local materials, and involve a stabilizationof soils in very interesting costs before the implementation of thesuperficial layers.An application of the treatment by 2 % of lime was executed forthe construction of the elevation localized at the level of asecondary axis of the East-West highway. A trial series wasestablished to control the execution and the compaction of layers.The results obtained on site are confronted with the results of thestudy in the laboratory.
