Abstract

Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) method is the most appropriatemethod to evaluate the environmental impact of a product or aprocess. The methodology follows standards and allows aquantification of different environmental impacts which isnecessary to appreciate the environmental quality of a structureduring all its life cycle. In this study, this method has been applied to the specific case ofa concrete bridge (Prestressed concrete bridge) which is commonto the panel of French bridges. Input and output data have beencollected for each step of the life cycle. Environmental impactcalculation has then been determined following NF P 01-010standards.In this paper, the environmental impacts for the whole life cycleof the bridge are shown and a sensitivity analysis is performed toevaluate the robustness of the results. This paper allows then togather the main knowledge that this study has highlighted inorder to better apply this methodology for further buildingstructure in the near future
