Abstract

This study consists in assessing evolutions of the mechanical
characteristics of geotextiles used for reinforcement application
during ageing in moderately alkaline medium (pH 9-11). The
analyzed geotextiles consist of polyethylene terephthalate woven
fibres. By correlation between the mechanical properties usually
used as indicator of ageing and the physico-chemical properties
on various scales of as-received materials and aged for one year
in laboratory, the understanding of the behaviour of degradation
could be improved
