MAKING SELF COMPACTING CONCRETE WITHALGERIAN CRUSHEd AGGREGATES
Abstract
Self-compacting concretes «SCC» are distinguished fromvibrated concrete through their properties in fresh state. Theyare able to flow under their own weight whatever, regardless ofthe environment and remained homogeneous during the flow. Ingeneral, they have the same mixed cement and water that thevibrated concrete and an equivalent volume of sand, but thecontribution of fines is privileged at the expense of aggregates, which provides a compromise between the stability andmaneuverability of the SCC. The aim of this study is to designsatisfactory SCC, exclusively made out of Algerian materials, including crushed aggregates. These SCC must prove solid stateproperties at least as good as ordinary concretes.
