Abstract

This research contributes to a better knowledge of electronic marketplaces via 6 in-depth case studies (1999-2009) from which 3 are described in this article. We built from the literature review a set of criteria to describe existing electronic marketplaces’ business models. Case study analysis and the codification of 55 interviews help use to identify 3 types of business models. We question their durability and risks. This allows us to highlight perspectives for electronic marketplaces business models.
