Science is secular and morally neutral, but this does not apply to its applications which have profound impact on human thinking and behav-iour. Biotechnological advancement in one part of the world affects the life in the other. At the present stage of scientific development it is not possible to perceive a world with circumscribed geographical, political or cultural boundaries. This creates a need for global bioethics, founded on a broad base of essential perspectives which extend far beyond the regional frontiers.
