RECOMMENDATIONS TO AUTHORS

The International Journal of Bioethics is a journal for all those interested in the relationship between science and society. It has a multidisciplinary approach and an international vocation. The articles submitted are mainly proposed within the framework of a thematic dossier specific to each issue. However, the editorial staff can also create sections (ethics of professional practices, current events or varieties allowing the publication of texts that do not fall under the chosen theme).

Section Thematic dossier

The relevance of the theme is privileged as much as the rigor of the files or research. The presentation is that accepted in the discipline of its author.

Heading Ethics of professional practices

- The introduction situates the action, its originality and purpose;
- the text chooses an angle of approach rather than a chronological presentation of the action;
- evaluation methods, success or failure factors and references to similar or comparable actions are analyzed in order to identify prospects for new actions.
The accepted languages are English, French and, where appropriate, Spanish.

The texts submitted will take into account the following editorial rules

Title: The title is brief and informative, it is about 10 words long. It must be completed with a short title (about 5 words) used in the header of the published article.

Authors: the list of authors (initials of first names, surnames) is followed by the references of the institution (name, city, country) as well as the full name and address of the author to whom the proof will be addressed.

Abstract: it does not exceed 10 typed lines (usually 250 words). It contains only sentences with a precise informative content. It is written in French and English. It is followed by keywords.

Tables: they are called in the text and numbered in the order in which they are called (Roman numerals). Their number is reduced (no more than 4 to 5 tables), as is their size. The legend will appear at the top of the tables.

Figures: they are called in the text and numbered in the order called (Arabic numerals). The legend will appear below the figures. Authors must provide an original proof of good quality. The text, tables and figures must be complementary.

Bibliography: only the references cited in the text are included. Conversely, any author cited appears in the bibliography. The order used for bibliographical references is alphabetical according to the names of the first authors. Each reference is called in the text by the order number (Arabic numeral in square brackets) assigned to it in the bibliography. References are classified at the end of the article in the alphabetical order of the first authors.

Bibliographic references are written and punctuated according to Vancouver standards:

- Authors: Their names are listed in lower case followed by the initials of their first names. When the number of authors exceeds 6, only the first 3 authors are listed followed by et al.
- The full title of the document in its original language is italicized.
