Abstract

Starting from the late ‘80s a “silent revolution” has changed completely the practice and attitudes regarding informed consent and truth telling in Italy.
The input was provided by a judge’s decision on the “Massimo case”, but the new point of view appears to be supported by widespread social consensus.
My paper presents the story of this change.
