Chapter 5. An international instrument prohibiting reproductive human cloning?
Keywords:
cloning, international law, UNO, prohibitionAbstract
Having manifested, in unison, their hostility with regard to “reproductive” human cloning, the States – which make up international society – paradoxically cannot manage, in this area, to finalise a convention containing a prohibiting standard.
However, an approach “by stages” – dissociating, thanks to two distinct legal instruments, “reproductive” cloning and “therapeutic” cloning – would make it possible to get away from the stagnation that, for about two years, has characterised the studies done on the subject within the United Nations Organisation.
