The discrepancies in access to healthcare in Latin America constitute a situation of such outright injustice that it is an essential ethical duty for governments to re-establish social justice in the field of healthcare.
To become reality, this ethical imperative should be based on the concept of distributive justice which, according to the principle of equal treatment for people in identical situations, implies an equitable allocation of resources
