Abstract

Rituals are often maligned and
criticized as being guarantors and
symbols of tradition “outdated”,
workbench coercive order. However,
they play a central role in institutions
(including education) and are valuable
elements if used tactfully. They facilitate
the changes of states and promote
passages, while working to transmit body
of knowledge and values inherent in
institutions. These rites, dialectizing the
“founding myths” of human communities
can therefore be generating real value for
businesses.
