“Do nothing for us without us”. The motto of the world of disability would extend to the world of gerontology through the involvement of older people in various fields that concern them. This dynamic of placing the user at the heart of the systems and involving him or her can be observed in conjunction with a major European research and development dynamic for technologies designed in the fields of autonomy and health. Patients, the end users for whom the products and services are
intended (in this case the elderly), are involved from the very design of these products, and very often over the long term, by experimenting and validating these innovations in “real-life” contexts. The management of an establishment in the medico social field is required to implement the inclusiveness of all stakeholders. This focus on inclusion contributes to the growing
involvement of patients in the production of goods and services from which they benefit, as well as their various interests in participating in the process of co-designing these technologies for health and autonomy.
