National Health Insurance (NIH) is the most significant major achievement for medical society engaging in Taiwan’s democracy movement; however, the conflict between state managerialism and professional autonomy has dramatically eroded the medical world’s trust in civil society. This paper examines administrative distance between theories of justice and authoritarian practices which now endanger the health care delivery system in Taiwan.
