If the end of life is a major stake which requires a multidisciplinary answer, it is important to think out the patrimonial consequences and to consider ways to deal with them. In this regard, the insurance has a part to play, alongside national solidarity measures, even though in law, end of life is not a risk in itself. In its occurrence, various types of cover (health, long-term care, life insurance) may be called upon, although their effectiveness is not always proven. By thinking exclusively on the insurance of the one who leaves, we suggest a brief thought on the way insurance legislation meets end of life.
