Abstract

Opinion no. 139 of the French National Consultative Ethics Committee and the report of the Citizens’ Convention, published in April 2023, came out in favor of legalizing active assistance in dying, in the name of the principles of autonomy and solidarity. The government and parliamentarians are working on a revision of end-of-life legislation. This article examines the legal implications of this possible development.
