Abstract

By examining two cases of legal challenges concerning water pollution in Zambia's Copperbelt, this article analyzes the possibilities and limitations of environmental justice through the courts. Can lawsuits serve as sources for writing environmental history? By conducting oral archives with the plaintiffs, this investigation aims to provide a more nuanced understanding of court documents, pollution complaints, and environmental justice.
