Abstract

The latest French law on bioethics dated 7 July 2011
cancelled the condition of prior procreation for donors of
gametes. Pursuant to provisions of the new law, a person
who reached the age of majority and who did not
procreate shall be able to proceed to a partial
conservation, for personal usage, in perspective of an
eventual recourse to a protocol of medical assistance for
procreation. These new measures, justified by the will to
favour donations and protecting donors, raise questions
on their indirect consequences in respect of certain major
principles governing donation of products of the human
body
