Abstract

.The author distinguishes cases in which the person responsible for the offence is known and solvent. The victim can then request indemnification by a verdict on the “civil damages” or be indemnified from the personal
account of the culprit when he is apprehended. When the person responsible for the offence is unknown or not solvent, the victim can apply for indemnification by national solidarity by means of the CIVI.
