Abstract

At the crossroads of the fundamental principles of architecture and the study of the imaginary nested at the heart of works of fiction, this text looks to the future of living conditions. Adopting a historical perspective, the organized dialogue between technological domestication and digital domesticity poses the ethical frameworks of this possible future. This article completes an initial contribution (Viala 2020) that opened the debate. It articulates three of the five assertions announced. The presentation therefore continues with the last two. Assertion 4 posits the hyper-connection of the home as a factor in transforming the spatiotemporal relationship to everyday life, while assertion 5 tests the possibilities offered by a “digital” well-being, which corresponds
to the added value generated in this respect by the introduction of a digital component into our everyday environment, historically built on physical foundations.
