Following the post-covid economic recovery and the conflict in Ukraine, French cities are forced to manage austerity, but also to communicate on the measures implemented. The information published in the Regional Daily Press and the municipal Budget Orientation Reports are subject to textual analyzes and a comparison of their respective contents. The results of the empirical study attest to a two-step communication strategy: brutal announcements
of public establishment closures in the press, then structural programs in local financial communication.
