Abstract

The renewal story of the rail-tram network in France favored a shift from urban tie-up to a durable solution. The design option slowly emerged from initial negotiations. We will first tackle the design option that slowly emerged from initial negotiations between designers and acting financing partners; then, our study will concentrate on local officials’ reactions towards local businesses involved in the process as well as the ones of the general public, let alone the significant effects and consequences on a short-term basis (rewards, urban tourism…).
