Abstract

Asking what social media have contributed to management in the business world and the public sector calls for examining the repercussions of a phenomenon linking a new technology, the interactive web, and enthusiasm for the digital exchange platforms called social networks. When we look closely at the development of various forms of public expression across time, we see that new technologies have for all intents and purposes made it possible to do things more efficiently and more quickly, but not necessarily differently from what had been done before. This has resulted in unexpected and sometimes pernicious effects.
