Author Biography

Alana Craigen serves as Global Climate Policy Coordinator within the Climate
Strategies and Policy Team at the United Nations Development Programme
(UNDP). In this role, she leads the strategic positioning of UNDP’s Climate
Promise portfolio, coordinating global advocacy and partnerships both within
and beyond the UN system. Her work involves providing high-level technical,
policy, and advisory support to national governments in the design and
implementation of climate strategies.
Alana also acts as UNDP’s global focal point on circular economy, as well
as on food and agriculture systems, where she contributes to advancing
regenerative and inclusive approaches to sustainability transitions.
Before joining UNDP, she gained experience in the private sector in public
relations, working on international communication and stakeholder
engagement. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics and a Master’s
degree in Sustainable Development from the Université Libre de Bruxelles
(Belgium).
