The Kammerkonzert, a truly synthetic work, provides many tracks for research. In order to produce a sound result that seemingly stresses feelings of disorder and chaos, Ligeti adopts a highly rigorous writing, at the level of the global construction of each of the four movements as well as at that of the melodic, canonic, timbric or temporal elaboration. Systematic and/or mathematic connections can be discovered behind an apparently informai creative gesture.
