The present paper is an introduction to the theoretical concepts at the base of Set-Theory, of which it assumes no previous knowledge. A brief survey of their analytical applications is given, with the main purpose of showing the diversity of their nature. These particularly concem the "classical" approach of Allen Forte and the ''transformational" one of David Lewin.
