The paper presents the transcription and the analysis of a set of seventeen
traditional songs for voice alone, stemming from three different regions from
Turkey. After evidencing, by means of transcriptions arranged in paradigms, the
structure and the dynamics of each of these songs, the study proposes a set of
comparative analyses that lead to observations of stylistic order, which in turn lead
to a taxonomic ordering of the songs.
