Abstract

Youth is a chief vector in the analysis of protest dynamics and political mobilisations in the MENA region. Indeed, hundreds of papers report the
involvement of this socio-demographic component in the earthquakes that have shaken the region and destabilized the political regimes in place.
However, the political and social condition of this category remains at a standstill despite the physical changes in governments and the promises
made by the region’s electoral autocracies. Revisiting this condition a decade after the so-called “Arab Spring” poses a significant academic challenge,
given the latency of the resonances of this particular political demography. The book edited by Nuseibeh, which focuses on the situation of urban youth
in the Arab region, provides an ocular statement on this topic.
