SUICIDE IN GENEVA: 2006-2015

Abstract

The number of cases of suicide is always clearly greater
among men up to the age of retirement, where this difference
declines, due to a substantial reduction in the men:women
ratio(2:1) as of the age of 65. Men commit suicide especially around the age of 50 to 59, due mainly to personal
or professional problems, whereas women commit suicide
between the ages of 40 and 50 and between the ages of 60
and 69, more concerned about the abrupt physical and
psychical changes related to menopause.
