Co ordinating physiCian in Care injunCtion : Considerations and shared-experienCes

Abstract

The care injunction is part of the mandatory care options which many probationers may have to abide by. The
role of the coordinating physician who is involved, according to the Act of 17th June, 1998, is not always easily
understandable by probational officers, insertion officers and general practitionner. This role is even more unclear
in some departments of France where the system has only been in place for a few months. It has become important to redifine the coordinating physician’s role so that overcoming recidivism can be achieved more efficiently,
as any practitioner may one day have a part to play.
