Evaluation of recidivism rates among sex offenders in treatment in Wallonia Region

The research evaluates follow up recidivism rates among sex offenders registered in ambulatory facilities in
Wallonia Region. The rates are of 27% for general recidivism, 7,9% for sexual recidivism, 4,7% of non sexual
violent recidivism and 18,3% of non sexual non violent recidivism. These rates are rather low in comparison to
the international literature or the recidivism rates among sex offenders internees inside the Social Defense System.
These rates rather support the hypothesis of a potential efficiency of ambulatory facilities in Wallonia Region
