Abstract

Pharmaceutical care, for the benefit of minor patients, results from the evolution of the professional exercises and from the modification of health systems organization. The mutual influence of the law, the practice or the ethic is favoring an appropriate minors’ accompaniment by pharmacists. This reflection on the pharmaceutical care oriented toward teenagers underlines the practical and legal difficulties to look after minors in a pharmacy. A legal study between France and Quebec gives a new perspective for the adoption of appropriate professional standards. The pharmacists from Quebec can supervise a medicinal therapy, adjust a medical prescription, prescribe a treatment or a contraception for a minor, if the patient has attained the age of 14, without the consent of the parents or guardians.
