Abstract

The French law dated 22 April 2005 regarding rights of
patients at the end of life is currently being criticised as
an insufficient one, while a part of the society claims the
right to choose the moment and conditions of their death.
Within a certain time, following years of works, the
Parliament shall be probably bound to review the
question. However, the question remains whether a law
may cover different situations. Would affirming the latter
in the legal field result in an unreasonable persistence
which is ruled out in the medical field?
