Abstract

Nowadays, violence against women is considered as a form
of human rights’ violation. For years, societies have been
fighting against this phenomenon, which remains a social
scourge and a public health problem on a global scale.
Tunisia, known as the first Arab country innovator in
the protection of women’s rights, has recently strengthened
its legal arsenal by enacting a new law in order to reduce
violence against women.
In this paper, we aim to present the new protection measures
provided by the organic law n° 2017-58 of 11 August
2017, to underpin the provisions provided in order to apply
these measures and to explain the difficulties encountered
in applying these measures.
